This course provides an introduction to statistical methods.  Topics covered include descriptive statistics, probability, the normal distribution, and basic techniques of statistical inference (confidence intervals and hypothesis tests for population means and proportions, one-way analysis of variance), as well as simple linear regression.  The Campion section of STAT 100 uses a custom textbook written by the instructor that is not only inexpensive, but also has a local flavour (Saskatchewan/Canada) with examples drawn from a range of areas of interest including the humanities, business, and science (astronomy, biology, etc.).
