Br. Guy Consolmagno, SJ, PhD, will deliver the
33rd annual Nash Memorial Lecture entitled
The New Physics and the Old Metaphysics on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at Campion College, University of Regina (main campus). Admission is free and parking is available in ‘M’ areas of lot 3.
With reference to
The Grand Design, co-authored in 2010 by the physicists Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow, Br. Consolmagno will examine the argument that science can replace the need for God, and the questions it raises about our understanding of the nature of God and the relationship between science and theology.
Br. Consolmagno is a planetary scientist and Curator of Meteorites at the Vatican Observatory, and author of
Brother Astronomer: Adventures of a Vatican Scientist (McGraw Hill, 2000) and
